Since a young man, Don Bonds dream was to own a wine and spirits store. Instead life took him on different roads including owning and running a printing company in Nashville for 25 years alongside wife, Evelyn, and son, JR. The opportunity did finally arrive when his hometown of Hendersonville decided to allow an additional liquor license in 2011 – the first for the city in 40 years!
After being awarded a Certificate of Compliance by the city the dream became reality in June of 2013 when Don, Evelyn and JR opened the doors of the newly constructed Pour Vous! Wine, Beer and Spirits Warehouse. Don still can’t believe his dream is reality and enjoys sharing his love of wine, special brews and especially bourbons with customers.
His goal is for the store to be a clean, well-lighted, open and friendly place where everyone feels comfortable to browse and learn about the ever-changing offerings available locally and from literally all around the world. Don loves to find and introduce new products to anyone interested. He is often found roaming the aisles at Pour Vous! with customers and friends discussing everything from wine to brown spirits to how hand-rolled cigars go through over 3000 steps in production. Evelyn enjoys researching and acquiring fun and unique gift, party and bar items. She also organizes tastings and education events. “Pour Vous customers are a joy to talk with – I learn so much from them and they have been so encouraging and excited about the store it gets me excited everyday. Life holds many difficulties, so being able to help celebrate holidays, birthdays, weddings, achievements, or any gathering is so rewarding!”
General Manager, JR Bonds, also shared his Dad’s dream of being an alcoholic beverage retailer while working as a printing plant manager for two decades. His biggest passion is for beer and local breweries exploding the current market with creative new flavors. What is not yet bottle, he is working to bring to the growler station as soon as available. You may also find him in the tequila section or discussing the latest single barrel bourbon he hand selected.
Jane, Aaron and Kristen are the Pour Vous beer geeks. Stop by the beer side and ask a question and you will be astounded by their knowledge of our 800+ beers as well as the incredible new tastes being released almost daily. Beer is their passion and it shows!
Ted Tieves hails from California wine country and while living in Modesto met many of the great wine makers in Napa, Sonoma and Mendocina. He was a busy Director of Nursing during the day, but free time found him extensively touring wineries in Amadon County, Monterey, Pasa Robles and Santa Barbara. He later moved to Orange County and continued to pursue his passion of searching for wines from all over the world. “My palate and appreciation of wine was developed in Modesto, California and has continued to this day. After retiring and moving to Hendersonville, TN Pour Vous has allowed me to continue my love for wine and those who enjoy it. I am the proud father of 25 yr old Stefani.”
If you have a question about a recipe or where an item is in the store – just ask Brandy Hunter! Brandy spent 12 years in southern California as an bartender and working at a wine and spirits retail store. Her move to Hendersonville splendidly divinely coincided with Pour Vous Warehouse’s store opening in June 2013. Brandy loves to talk about party drinks, fun party items, party planning, parties she’s attended, parties you had and parties yet to come. She has a vast knowledge of wine and spirits and loves to find just the right thing for each customer’s specific taste.
Rick Jones hails from Maryland where he spent time in Computer Technology, Real Estate and Insurance. In 2010 he happily threw away his snow shovels and relocated to Hendersonville. Rick’s goal is to “always provide the very best customer service” and may be found helping customers, training staff or searching the stockroom shelves to ensure Pour Vous customers have a pleasing shopping experience. He especially enjoys good bourbon and whiskey, golf and music.

Born into a musical family, Gary has always been comfortable around music and vocal performance. For the last 28 years he has performed as a live backup and/or studio session singer with many artists and productions.
A few years ago in Nashville he received a bottle of 1990 Petite Villages Pomerol wine from the Bordeaux area of France as a gift from a great friend. This 97-98 point wine was so phenomenal it ignited a great passion and love for wine. “It changed my life.” He is now on a quest to further discover this world and loves his work with Pour Vous and enhanced learning with Wine Nashville (a group of Somms) and The Nashville Wine Guild as well as studying with the Gallo Academy while taking in as much study and tasting as the industry provides. He’s considering getting his CSW.
